Test your site on different Browsers!
As we all know, there are plenty of different web browsers out there now days like Firefox, Epiphany, Flock, Galeon, Iceape, Iceweasel, Kazehakase, Konqueror, Minefield, Navigator, Opera, SeaMonkey, K-Meleon, MSIE, Camino, and Safari. Of course there are many more out there but when building a website we often have difficulties making the website so that it will work on multiple browser platforms. For example: I may have a site that works on Internet Explorer, but won’t work on Firefox.
Well i was using stumbleupon today and i found an interesting site. It’s called Browsershots. What you do is put the url you are wishing to test within the text box on the top of the page. It is really simple to find. Then you select all of the browsers you wish to test it on. They also give you the options on choosing the screen size you wish to display the results on, the color depth, Javascript, and if you want it to display the Java. After that it only takes a few minutes for it to start displaying results. Certain browsers may take longer to get the request from.
This is also useful in taking a look at all of the different browsers available to the market today. From my results i can tell which ones will work on certain websites and witch ones will not. Looking at the results shows me that Safari, Firefox, and Explorer still display the best results.
Another one of the great things about this website is that it continues to be open source. I continue to believe in open source projects. If you have any interesting projects to share email me. It doesn’t matter whether it is a new website, a new product, or you just want to talk tech. Feel free to contact me, or visit my blog.
