The evening of November 22, 2008 made history throughout the world as Youtube hosted their first live broadcast plus the biggest(predicted) show ever streamed on the Internet. With millions of people around the world watching Youtube daily, the video Giant put a huge performance in front of a 3000 member audience plus millions of others in all parts of the world.
Katy Perry kicked off the performance with her hit song Hot n Cold. Later Youtube dazzled the worldwide audience with appearances of The Mythbusters, Will I Am, and much more. Not only that, Youtube decided to go all the way by adding HD to their live feed which showed amazing detail and quality.
Youtube also self promoted themselves with commercials featuring their influence in the world. This including the presidential election in the United States, multiculturalism throughout the world, and much more.
Youtube’s Live page featured a graphically stunning look, and stats that were climbing minute by minute. Their channel is rated #2 most subscribed this month, #82 most subscribed all time, and #74 most subscribed all time(partner). The official stats of how many viewed the show are currently unclear, but are expected to be released within the week.
Youtube Live is also being hosted in Tokyo, Japan where another million viewers are expected to lay their eyes on. Today makes history as this is the first time ever that Youtube has played host to a live event, and in my mind we’ll definitely be seing something similar again.

Today i recently made the partial switch from Youtube to Blip.tv. Although i will still cross-upload to Youtube, I am officially making Blip my official video host. Below I’ve listed 20 reasons of why I am now using Blip.tv
- The Front Page Looks Nice- It’s so nice to see the friendliness of a video when entering a site which hosts the video. When you go onto Youtube all you see are lists of icons lining up all across the page.
- Blip.tv is exaggerated- When you go onto Blip I notice things and when I go onto Youtube I don’t. It’s as simple as that.
- Better Quality- I notice in general that the Blip.tv videos seem to be of better quality than Youtube. However this may only be my impression as I’ve grown used to the same old Youtube format.
- No 10 minute limit- It’s so nice to know that you don’t have to rush when creating videos as there is no 10 minute limit on Blip.tv. It god a little annoying having to make sure that i kept my videos under 10 minutes.
- I can make money- Sorry Google, but I’m going to go with Blip who is nice enough to share their profit with me. After all, It’s my creation.
- I Like Blip’s Stats Page- It just looks so cool. I mean, where do you ever get to see a pie chart?
- There is no bulging Adsense add to the left of my video- That add that sits on the left of all Youtube videos really felt like it got in the way. On Blip.tv They keep the adds below the video.
- Blip.tv Looks nice- The overall chemistry of everything on the site works perfectly. I can see, and understand everything that is happening with my content.
- They Uploader shows progress- I got really quite annoyed not knowing how much of my video was finished uploading on Youtube. With Blip.tv they have a status bar showing what percentage of the video is uploaded.
- Blip.tv embeds a thumbnail image to my blog. I really like how Blip has allowed my users to choose whether they want to watch the movie on my website, and not having a monster video player sticking in their face.
- I can use the Creative Commons License- With Blip.tv i can choose what kind of copyright i want for each particular video.
- I have Ad Management- It’s not only the fact that i can put ads on my videos. It’s also that i can implement guidelines for the amount of advertising i want featured on my productions.
- Blip has a Blog- I really don’t know why this is on my top 25 list because i really don’t use this feature at all. The thought sounds cool though.
- They let you edit video players- With Blip.tv you can customize how you want people to view your video.
- Blip.tv gives you clear instructions- I find with Blip that i have easy access to instructions whether it’s on uploading videos, or just simply browsing the website. Blip.tv provides me with great service relative to website navigation.
- The Profile page looks nice- I personally felt that Youtube had a gritty old school look on their profile pages. With Blip.tv you have a simple interface with just a video player basically. No extra junk like recently played, favorites, ratings etc.
- Faster Upload Speeds- Again this may just be me, but i honestly feel that Blip has very good upload speeds in comparison to other video hosting websites that i know of.
- Bwana Uses it- That’s right! I use it because Bwana from Bwana.tv uses it. Not for the mere fact of his usage, but for his reasoning on why he uses it. He has very similar reasons of why i use Blip.tv which includes quality and professionalism etc.
- Blip.tv allows FTP Uploads- Blip.tv allows you to upload your videos directly by using your favorite FTP upload tool.
- Stats seem accurate- I noticed with Youtube that they had their stats all over the board. For example: I would see a stat saying on the video page saying a number when on the dashboard it gave me a totally different number.
Blip.tv is dong an excellent job as of late, which is one of the reasons of why i switched over to Blip.tv. However the fact still remains that Youtube has a stronger and more influential community than all the video hosting websites combined. Youtube has done a fantastic job for me and i’m sure it will get better in the years to come.

Many of you probably learned how to make at least a little ASII Art in high school using a text document. The pictures you made out of letters, numbers, and symbols. Well have you ever wanted to get a picture of you done in ASII? I did it and you can find it at Asiiconvert.
What you do is you either enter the image url, or upload it from your computer, then you will see a list of check boxes. In those check boxes you will either choose whether you want your picture to have a colour background, convert it to a greyscale, Use a white background, Flip image horizontally, Flip image vertically, Monochrome the output, and then you select the number of characters you wish to be in the image.
After you click “Convert to ASCII”. Once it is uploaded go up to the navigation bar and click View Gallery. There you will see all the pictures converted within the last three days. Some pictures end up looking pretty interesting, and some pictures like mine end up looking pitiful.
So that’s another interesting website that i thought i would show you. If you have an interesting website that you would like the world to see just email me or comment below. I read all comments and reply to all emails.
Thanks

I’m sure if your reading this that you want to have your own internet radio station. The only problem is that you don’t yet have a server for your radio station. Well that is where listen2myradio.com comes in. They offer free internet radio hosting with up to 2000 listeners at a time. Below I’ve created a tutorial to show you how to set up an account. If you already know how to do this you can go to my internet radio station setup tutorial by clicking here. So here we go.
Step 1: Go to listen2myradio.com, and in the menu bar select sign up. After that fill in all of the required information including a user name, password, email, country, and gender. Don’t forget to read the terms and agreement.
Step 2: Once you have set it all up including the email activation login to your account. There you will be prompted to select a server. Select the one that suites you the best. After that you will see a screen. You will most likely see a whole bunch of warnings that some of their servers are not working. Just ignore all of that. Go to the lower part of the page a click radio installation. Scroll down to the very bottom of the page and fill in all of the required information including the broadcaster password, the administration password, and your radio name/url. Remember that url as that is the url to your radio station.
Step 3- Once you have all of that going go down to radio installation then look three spaces right. You should see a turn on/off button there. Click that. Once you do, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on. Now your radio should be active. It may take a few try’s at that to get it working. Please wait a few minutes.
Step 4- Check the radio status. If it’s on below the status should be an ip address and a server port number. Put those into the shoutcast source box. If you don’t know what a shoutcast source box is click here.
That’s it. If you have any questions about this tutorial feel free to email me at bradley(at)bradwelltv.com. Or comment below. I love hearing all of your opinions on things like this.
Thanks, Brad

A couple of days ago i came accross a free hosting website called 000hosting, and assumed it was going to be one of those spammy crap web hosts. Therefore i neglected it and moved on. The next day (yesterday) i came across it again. This time i thought “Why not try it?”. So i did and i was to my delight presently surprised. Most of the features that came with the account are features you would expect to find on a major web hosting companies plan.
Here are a few of the features this free web hosting comes with.
- Disk space of 250 Megabytes
- 100 Gigabytes of Bandwidth
- Unlimited domains allowed
- A pretty good control panel
- No company advertising
- The ability to ad your own ads
- Website Builder
- PHP Scripts auto installer
- Unrestricted PHP Support
- My SQL Database
- Instant backups
- FTP Support
- Web file managing
- 99.9 percent up time
- Instant activation
- Email including Pop 3 accounts, Web mail, Auto responders, Spam Protection, Mail forwarding, Imap Support, Modify MX Entry.

Again this is surprising to find throughout the internet. New up and coming websites are being displayed using 000’s servers including Xurba, and The Limit. I would first recomend trying it with a free domain before you move your main .com website to their servers just to try it out.
Also feel free to give me your opinion on this website or any other free webhosting websites. I would be very interested in knowing. So leave a comment below to give your opinion.
