Review on The Lg 8600 Chocolate Flip!

The Lg Chocolate is a good looking unique phone with lots of characteristics. Major parts of the Chocolate include it’s huge display, big phone pad, and the great sound quality. All these features add up to make a wonderful user experience. So here comes a miracle review on the Chocolate Flip phone from LG.

When you first get the phone, you will notice in the box a manual, the phone, a charger, headset, usb cord, and the other gizmo’s and gadgets that come with a normal wireless carrier. Just a note though that carriers around the world all vary in what they put into their box. Opening the box is a simple task that will take a short time to complete.
The Lg Chocolate Flip!

After you take your first look at the Lg Chocolate Flip you will see it’s beautiful crystal like outer display with a black finishing. On the outer side there is a display, and mp3 player buttons to control your music. There is also a 1.3 mega pixel camera on the upper part of the phone. On the lower left hand corner of the phone there is a speaker( with not the best speaker quality). On the sides of the phone you will see a nice silver trimming with the volume rocker, the camera buttons, and an unlock button. There is nothing of significance on the back of the phone.

Once you open the cellphone you will see gigantic 220 by 176 pixel display. Here are the specs below of the whole cellphone as it is on telus.ca.

EVDO Dual-Band Operation: CDMA 800/1900 MHz

The keyboard of the Lg Chocolate is very “slimming” if you know what i mean. This can be a problem for texters as they are not able to feel where certain numbers on the keypad are. I myself have had no problems with the keypad on this cellphone. The navigation for this cellphone is 4 way + 2.

The navigation for this cellphone is very easy to use. On your main screen you will have on the bottom a menu button and a contacts button. As you click onto the menu button you will see a list of all the features on the cellphone including Contacts, Call history, Mail, Music and Media, Shopping, Applications, Tools, and of course the Settings of the cellphone. Again the Main navigation is easy to use, and flip through with no complicated names etc.

Applications this phone comes with include Gps, Calculator, Alarm Clock, Scheduler, Notepad, EZ Tip Calculator, World clock, and a Voice Memo. All of which are the basic essentials you will usually find on any cellular device these days. This phone does not come with any built in games, but does give you the option of buying them along with pictures and ring tones at the wireless companies online store.

In the settings you will find what things you are able to customize on the Chocolate flip. This includes the Sound, Display, Games/Tools, Blue tooth, Global Positioning Service, Other, System, and of course the phone information. This is the very basic of what a majority of phones on the market come with and there is nothing unique or interesting about the phone in this way. The Contacts have a standard five hundred entry phone book with the options of picture ID, mobile phone unit, home phone, email address, and the home address.

The special media features this phone comes with include a Navigator, Mobile Radio, Music, and Television. All of which can be found on a standard phone today. It also comes with an integrated text and video messaging, with an email capability.

The service of the phone could be better. Where i am at the bars didn’t stay high as long as other phones that i have also recently tested within the same area. It also (out of the city) tends to be a bit shaky as to dropped calls and shaky voices. Overall this doesn’t affect the phones capability as i have seen other cellular phones do.

Overall the Lg Chocolate Flip is a very good phone with a nice, sleek, and easy to use user interface. Right now prices for the phone are relatively high, but are expected to decrease in the coming months with the next generation of the Apple Iphone coming within the next month or so. If i had to rate the phone i would give it eight stars out of ten with ten being the highest.

Happy calling!
