Phishing Hits Twitter With a Bang!
A Twitter look a like has hit the Internet but instead of allowing you post your updates it takes your login information including your username and password to hack into your Twitter account. People are receiving the link to this phishing website through direct messages. Direct messages are a feature of Twitter that allows you to receive personal messages. These scammy direct messages usually look like this:
hey! check out this funny blog about you… jannawalitax . blogspot . com
There are different variations of this direct message but it’s important to know that these are very dangerous. I myself have received a message similar to this and immediately deleted it. OK so how can I protect myself from these vicious phishers?
- Don’t open links from people you don’t know.
- Don’t open links on email even it’s from a family or friend.
- Don’t open shortened URL’s like Tinyurl etc.
- Make sure that your virus defender is set to high.
