How to move!
There usually is a time in our life that we just cannot avoid, and that is moving. A great percentage of us will need to move at least once in our lives. Unfortunately this can be one of the most stressful times that we will endure throughout our years, so i have come up with a few tips on how to keep stress at a minimum while moving.
1- Give yourself time. Do not wait until the last minute to begin moving. Start at least a week in advance so you are not rushing, and stressing yourself out. Make sure you have time to still do the many things that are important in your daily life like work, sports, social occasions, and sometimes even entertainment. Having to rush at the deadline will cause sever stress and discomfort, and there is always the potential that you could injure yourself.
2- Take a break. Don’t take the whole day to pack, it’s just not reasonable although partially realistic. Take five minute breaks every hour of packing or so. This is so that you can regenerate and still have the ability to think clearly and make smart decisions about your move. Also stretch a little bit, or maybe even take a walk around the block, and smell the fresh air. It isn’t good to stay in a stressful, tiring situation for to long as it may effect you mentally in the long term.
3- Drink water, and eat properly. This is very important to keeping your work habits up during the long and stressful day. Most people don’t drink enough water as is, and usually don’t even think about it while moving. Also don’t forget to eat. May only explanation for that is “duh”.
4-Be Happy. Don’t get into stressful arguments with your spouse, especially for stupid reasons, like the placement of certain things in the moving van. This only slows things down, and if you are already having a rough relationship, it will only make things worse for the both of you. It is very important that your whole family works as a team, not as a single player during one of these moves, and make sure that you use all of your resources when doing this important event in your life.
5- Have Fun. This is sometimes a once in a lifetime opportunity to take part in, and you should appreciate what you are accomplishing, and how you can mature during these tough and stressful times. Ad a little game to it with children, or even with other adults. Don’t make it a boring occasion where no one wants to work.
I hope these top 5 tips will help you with your next move, as i definatly need to use some of these tips during mine as well. Moving is just so stressful and needs to be dealt with in a causious, safe, but also fun and happy manner.
