How To Compare Search Results Between Multiple Search Engines
The Problem
One of the most important things for anyone that has a website to do is monitor your search engine placement. There are various tools around that monitor page rank, search engine referral statistics, and other important information, but there hasn’t been a tool that allows you to compare the search results on major search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing. This would be an Internet marketers dream — to have an application that would help them discover how well their website is doing in multiple search engines. It’s a common frustration most of us face, and unfortunately, most of us give up on trying to improve our standing in search engines other than Google.
Forgetting about other search engines, especially since the introduction of Bing, is a huge mistake. The market share of alternative search engines have grown substantially over the past few months, potentially giving you more diversity when it comes to attracting readers to your blog or website. With that said, it’s been almost impossible to find a web application that will allow you to compare results from the three major search engines…. until now.
The Solution
A Microsoft employee a little while back invented a new Internet based application that utilizes the results from all three major search engines and organizes them into a single multi column web page. The website is called Blind Search, and what it does is shows you three random search results for a particular key phrase that you search. From there they ask you to choose which results you found were the most beneficial to your needs.
You’d be pretty surprised at which search engine commonly produced the best results, but I’ll let you figure that out on your own. I will say this though; Google is going to have to improve their search engine results quickly before other companies creep up behind them.
How This Helps You
The benefit of this tool is that it causes you to focus your attention on a wide variety of search engines on the Internet. Most Internet marketers and websites owners focus their attention and resources on Google, whereas Google doesn’t always necessarily produce accurate results. Sure, they may almost have a monopoly in the search industry, but there are still another 35% or so of searchers who’re using other search engines. That is quite a large percentage of searchers and potential costumers if you think about it from a marketers stand point.
This application can also assist you in developing your website to better serve your users. Not all search engines have the same algorithm when it comes to indexing websites so it’s important to gear yours to as many as possible.
Try to use meta search engine. It shows multiple result from the search engines
