19 August 2008 4 Comments

I’m sure if your reading this that you want to have your own internet radio station. The only problem is that you don’t yet have a server for your radio station. Well that is where listen2myradio.com comes in. They offer free internet radio hosting with up to 2000 listeners at a time. Below I’ve created a tutorial to show you how to set up an account. If you already know how to do this you can go to my internet radio station setup tutorial by clicking here. So here we go.

Step 1: Go to listen2myradio.com, and in the menu bar select sign up. After that fill in all of the required information including a user name, password, email, country, and gender. Don’t forget to read the terms and agreement.

Step 2: Once you have set it all up including the email activation login to your account. There you will be prompted to select a server. Select the one that suites you the best. After that you will see a screen. You will most likely see a whole bunch of warnings that some of their servers are not working. Just ignore all of that. Go to the lower part of the page a click radio installation.  Scroll down to the very bottom of the page and fill in all of the required information including the broadcaster password, the administration password, and your radio name/url. Remember that url as that is the url to your radio station.

Step 3- Once you have all of that going go down to radio installation then look three spaces right. You should see a turn on/off button there. Click that. Once you do, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on. Now your radio should be active. It may take a few try’s at that to get it working. Please wait a few minutes.

Step 4- Check the radio status. If it’s on below the status should be an ip address and a server port number. Put those into the shoutcast source box. If you don’t know what a shoutcast source box is click here.

That’s it. If you have any questions about this tutorial feel free to email me at bradley(at)bradwelltv.com. Or comment below. I love hearing all of your opinions on things like this.

Thanks, Brad

    Hi James,
That message shouldn’t affect your actual use of the server. Let me ask you a question… Are you having problems with the server?

p.s. You have a very good template for your blog. Where have you got it from?
