Dear Be A Magpie: Will I Ever See a Tweet?

6 January 2009 One Comment

Most of you have already heard of the advertising website(Be A Magpie) that takes advertisements and posts them via your Twitter account. The account owner would be paid per  Tweet with the amount being determined by the amount of followers one has. They also promote their advertising using specific keywords that relate to the Tweets that you post on Twitter. Lately I’ve been noticing that they’ve neglected to post Tweets. They, contrary to what i believe say that it’s because they don’t have a campaign similar to the content I was posting. Why do I think this is bogus? Because technology is one of the hottest topics out there and I find it hard to believe there is only a few people who advertise their “Tech Websites”. In fact i believe there are hundreds if not thousands out there that would be happy to advertise through a network like this.

OK now back to my original point. I’m not receiving Tweets with the exception of yesterday where i finally received a Tweet after 30 days. During those 30 days i was wondering if Magpie was turning into one of those Web 2.0 failures.  All I’m asking of Be A Magpie is to post Tweets a little more frequently(even if they are a little off topic). I really enjoy this service they are providing but it would really be nice if they stayed out of the shadows and started Tweeting.

What do you think about Be A Magpie? Have you been receiving any Tweets from them? Do you know of any other similar websites that provide services like this?
