Are There any free Alternatives to Audacity?

Many of you have probably heard of the free application called Audacity, which of course is an audio editing platform. Audacity is designed to allow users to mix music, create podcasts, and much more. A majority of people, however, don’t realize that there is an alternative to Audacity, and that is Koblo. Here below are a few features that Koblo has.

• Advanced file compression and export for web features, allowing you to share your projects and get them remixed!

• The ability to sell your projects via Koblo.com, and make money using the Koblo Marketplace!

• Online collaboration features, free plugins, cross-platform compatibility, and more!

After downloading Koblo, I found that it has a much cleaner interface than Audacity. But don’t forget, as i said earlier, it’s an alternative, and i wouldn’t necessarily migrate from Audacity to Koblo.

For all of you cross-platform users out there, you will be happy to know that Koblo is available for both Mac and Windows operating systems. Unfortunately, they do not yet have a Linux version available, however, their website states that they’re actively seeking programmers to assist in the development of a Linux version.

Koblo is much more than audio editing software, it’s a whole community. They promote bands, musicians, and other artists. Even better, they give you easy access to current top of the chart singles.

I definitely recommend Koblo for anyone that is interested in trying something new when it comes to audio editing. It’s fast, clean, and really easy to use. Overall i would rate it 4 stars out of 5.

I’ll have to try that. I was just trying to mix some film dialog with a song for a mix-cd and got this crappy clicking sound at the start of the audio every time I loaded a song in Audacity. The sound is not on the original file.
