My Top 5 Websites on the Internet!
filed in communicate, websites on Aug.27, 2008
There are many websites we all use everyday. Some we use more than we plan to or even know we’re doing. Well i thought about that and developed a top 5 lists of the websites that i frequently visit or like.
1-Facebook- It almost seems that every time i go onto the computer, the first website i go onto is Facebook. Facebook just has a social addiction that i can’t get rid of. I think it’s the ability to connect twenty four hours a day, whenever you want. With Facebook, the person doesn’t have to be online to communicate with them. Facebook also gives you the feeling that your entering someones life.
2-Twitter- I don’t go on this nearly as much as Facebook, but still quite frequently. I now also have ping.fm as a contact on my instant messenger, so that gives me the ability to update my Twitter Status without actually going on the website. The ability to let any of your followers on Twitter know what your doing really helps when you are trying to drive traffic to your website or blog. It also allows you to spread new information and content to the community. It also allows you to have instant access to other peoples websites, thoughts, blogs, and information(not personal). Using Twitter in my opinion is more reliable and faster in getting the latest news than other services like tv, or a news website.
3-Gmail- I have a majority of my email accounts on Gmail. This gives me plenty reason to visit Gmails website to read my email. In my opinion Gmail has the best email service in the world. They make it quick and simple to read your email, you never have to delete a message, and your instant messenger is embedded within the email application. It’s like an all in one web application, and i think it’s suffice to say that it’s the perfect web application.
4-Youtube- What would this world do without Youtube. Having entertainment at the click of a button is the most appealing thing in the world. Youtube gives you a glimpse into other peoples lives and allows you to be a part of a large scale community. Youtube is also very useful in driving traffic to your website. With a simple user interface, fairly good security features, and much more. Youtube is the future of entertainment in the world today.
5-Google Reader- Almost every day i go onto my Google Reader to read all of my subscriptions. Google Reader allows you to pull in the Rss(Really Simple Syndication) Feed from websites you want to get your information from and displays them in an organized efficient way in which you can scroll through and select which stories out of your subscriptions you want to read. In simpler terms, it’s my virtual morning newspaper. The Newspaper is so old school. Now i just turn on my computer and there it is.
Well that’s it. Those are my most frequently visited websites, and i must admit i visit them more than twice a day. How about you? Which websites do you use daily? Do you still read the newspaper? Do you use an RSS reader for all of your information? I would love to here your opinion on this topic, and you can do this by emailing me or commenting below.
Happy Browsing!!
