Getting your poetry noticed by the public isn’t an easy task. It takes a lot of work writing the poems, not to mention the fact that you have to promote them. With the invention of the Internet it’s never been easier to get your content seen by people all around the world. With search engines like Google and Bing, all people have to do to find your poetry is type in a few words. With that said, today I’m going to give you a step by step guide on how you can publish your poems online. Additionally, the tips I’m about to discuss are extremely cost effective and wont make a dent in your wallet.

1. The first thing you need to do is create a website, preferably a blog. To do this head to Page.ly. Once you’re there you’ll be presented with a sign up page that will ask you to type in a domain name. This domain name will be your website (ex, www.mywebsite.com), so make sure you choose a name that you’ll want to keep. Once you’ve chosen a name that’s available click continue.
2. The next page is the account information page. Here, you’ll need to enter the information necessary for your account. Make sure that it’s accurate or else you’ll run into problems in the future. Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and review your payment. You’ll then have two options, to pay with Paypal or with a credit card.
3. Once you’ve chosen a payment option you’ll be sent to the payment page. Here you’ll have to input the information needed so that your payment will process successfully. Again, Page.ly is one of the most secure companies I’ve worked with, so your information will be extremely safe.
4. Upon completing all of the steps above you’ll get to choose the theme and design for your new website. There are a wide selection of themes available, so take your time so that you can ensure that you choose the one that suites your needs.
5. From there you’ll be asked to choose the domain (website name) that you’d like to use with your new blog. If you purchased one earlier click “Use a domain I already own.” If you haven’t acquired a name yet, follow the on screen instructions.

You’re setup! After you’ve clicked finished you’ll be able to publish all of your poetry on your brand new blog. To begin working on your website head to www.yourwebsitename.com/wp-admin and click add new post. Then write or copy and paste your poem into the required field and click publish.
